A Prayer for the Week: 01

Posted: January 11, 2011 in Uncategorized

Abba,

May our soul live that it  may praise You. Will You make glad the soul of Your servant? For unto You, O Lord, do we lift up our souls.

For You, Father, are good, gracious, gentle, and are ever ready to forgive; You overflow with lovingkindness to all who call upon You. Among the gods of this world, among the idols  which attempt to plague our lives, You stand out as True and Chief among all and there is no other like You nor even one who has done deeds like You.

May it be that one day, and one day soon, that all nations will come to worship before You. That Your name may be lifted high, magnified, glorified, for You are great and do wondrous works – You alone are God!

Teach us Your ways, O Lord; we want to, we desire to, we will try to walk in Your truth. Unite our hearts to fear Your name.

During these strange times, times when our world – even our brothers and sisters in You, even our friends, even our family – is confused, seemingly worshiping and promoting anything but You, will You do daily a revitalizing soul-captivating work in the hearts of Your remnant, us, Your children, that we may exemplify Your ways, being earnest and zealous for good works, showing the world Your gospel and not only telling them? Make us a people passionate for Your glory and grace.

O Father, may we show our trust in You by obeying Your statutes; may we be motivated, having Your name and renown being the desire of our souls.

Unto You, the God who sees our hearts and seeks our lives, and often times is grieved over our double-mindedness, do we pray and ask these things. Amen.
