Hutcheson Household Update 03: Bound For Uganda

Posted: February 16, 2011 in Uncategorized

Amber and I are thrilled to begin our transition to Uganda, East Africa! Some of you may already know of our plans to move to Uganda to serve as missionaries for a couple of years, but for those who do not, we are aiming to leave in January of 2012, if not sooner.

As of now, we have several opportunities which have been offered to us regarding what we may possibly be doing there. Some of which range from teaching as a professor in a seminary to working in an orphanage, pioneering a ministry interest of our own, or coming alongside a Ugandan church and working with them. We are seeing God’s hand open many doors, and now we are seeking His will regarding which opportunity to pursue.

We are not simply moving to Uganda on our own, rather we are going with the wonderful organization Global Outreach International (“GO” for short).  To learn more about GO, you can visit their website at: (see also,

We recently returned from Mississippi (where GO’s home office is located) where we had a week of training. Training it was indeed as we learned a great deal not merely about all that GO does on a global level, but also about what we can expect in working with them. GO is a fascinating organization with a very special, talented, and truly Christ-centered team of individuals who have truly yielded their lives to the furtherance of the gospel. We cannot be more thankful God led us to this organization and that we are serving with them.

As the Lord brings us to mind, will you join in prayer with us even now for the country of Uganda and those whom we will be serving amongst?

We look forward to sharing more with you in the days and weeks ahead. I’m sure we will begin a new family blog which will consistently update others with our progress towards Uganda, as well as ways we can join in prayer together.

“Praise the LORD, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD.” – Psalm117

  1. Praying for your little family as you obediently seek the Lord’s will and direction for the work He has had for you, from the beginning of time in Uganda!
