O Lord,
Who is this who has given the sun for light by day, who has fixed the order of the moon and stars for light by night? Who is this who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar – HIS name, is the LORD OF HOSTS.
Do we not know? Have we yet to hear and dwell upon? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired, His understanding, no one can fathom!
Amidst chaos, we find Christ – Amidst pain, we find Your peace – Amidst disease, we find Your divine sovereignty – Amidst hurting, find Your healing
Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity, and passes over the rebellious act of the remnant of your possession? Ha! O Lord, there is none like You! You are great and great is You name in might! You are awe-inspiring in Your sanctuaries and as the God of Israel, You give strength and power to Your people – may You and You alone be praised.
We hear the cry of the world, for “many are saying, who will show us any good?” Lift up the light of Your face upon us, O Lord, for in You alone can we both lie down and sleep in the safety of Your salvation. May we, Your own, go forth this day and always, aiming to keep excellent our behavior that those who are reticent toward us and our God, after seeing our good works, may glorify and turn to You.
You have made glad the soul of Your servants for unto You, O Lord, have we lifted up our soul. You alone stand ready to forgive; You alone are good. Overflowing with compassion and lovingkindness; You, as the supreme Judge, sitting upon Your throne call us to stand up on behalf of Your justice. May we do so with earnest, for the time of need is now and ever growing and great is the need.
Break open our resistant ears to listen to Your Word and guidance and break our hearts for the things which have broken Yours.
Into Your sovereign, saving hand do we commit this hour, this day, and this week. Amen.
